FAQ’S

What is the customary gratuity for guides?

Tips are greatly appreciated.  Tips most often are between 15-20% or your tour cost.

Do you visit Lombard Street?

Absolutely! Because our vans only seat 7 people total, they can go lots of places larger tour vans cannot access, including Lombard St & Alamo Square (Painted Ladies)!

Why don't you visit Fisherman's Wharf?

In our opinion, Fisherman’s Wharf is best experienced on foot so you can fully take in all the little shops, street vendors and charm this area has to offer. A quick drive through wouldn’t do it justice.

Do you visit Golden Gate Park?

Unfortunately not. Because GG Park has so much to offer, guests might consider a whole day here to take in all its magic.

Do we have a designated lunch stop?

For our wine country tour, yes there is a designated lunch stop.  For our SF City Tour, no we do not.

Do you pick up from hotels?

For our wine tours, we pick up from hotels within the Fishermans Wharf and Union Square areas.  And for private charter tours, we can pick up from SF based hotels. In order to make sure that our tours run efficiently and on time, we have found that our two convenient pick up and drop off locations work best for everyone.[

Is there a parking garage at both pick-up locations?

Yes. You can find parking information here.

Can we get off the bus for photos?

Yes! We have multiple stops where you can get out and take photos.

Do we provide car seats?

We do not provide infant car seats, but we do have a booster seat for older kids.

Are kids welcome?

We are a family business and we welcome all families aboard. With that said, please be considerate of the other guests when travelling with young children. In such an intimate setting, it is important that everyone is well behaved so that all of the guests can enjoy their experience.

How do we pay for the Private Tour?

If the day and times are available, you can pay for a private tour directly through our website.

What is your cancellation policy?

We offer a 100% refund if you cancel at least 7 days or more in advance and a 50% refund for tours that are cancelled between 3 and 6 days of your scheduled tour. All tours cancelled within 72 hours of scheduled departure are non-refundable. We also offer rescheduling options for a future tour date without penalty.[

Is your site secure for payments?

Yes, our site offers SSL security on all purchases.

When should I make a reservation?

Our tours fill up fast, especially during spring and summer, so we recommend booking in advance.

Can I bring my luggage?

Unfortunately not. However, a small backpack or handbag is ok as long as it will fit on your lap or under your legs.

What do I need to bring for the tour?

Because the weather can drastically change depending on our location, it is usually good to have a warmer layer or windbreaker if needed. We provide bottled water for both of our SF City Tours, however you are more than welcome to pack your own lunch or snacks for the ride. A camera or phone is highly recommended, and Pearl is equipped with USB charging stations in case your battery starts running low. Please bring your own USB cable to ensure proper charging.[
